English/Language Arts HW

October 16-20

 

All third graders should read a minimum of 20 minutes every night. When the book is completed students should try to take an AR test the next day.

 

Tests this week:

English: Tuesday, past tense verbs

              Thursday, verb tenses

Spelling: Friday

Reading: Friday, see home letter from Monday for topics

 

Spelling words: talk, cross, awful, law, cloth, cost, crawl, chalk, also, raw, salt, wall, lawn, always, soft, small, often, strawberry  

Vocabulary words: invention, experiment, laboratory, genius, gadget, electric, signal, occasional

 

Monday

Reading: practice vocabulary, use the words in a sentence  

Spelling: write words 2 times  

English: quiz on past tense verbs tomorrow, use WB p. 42 & 44 to study

 

Tuesday

Reading: practice vocabulary, use the words in a sentence  

Spelling: write misspelled words 3 times  

“Take home Tuesday” – signed test packets must be returned by Thursday  

Wear Mass uniform tomorrow!

 

Wednesday

Reading: Reading: practice vocabulary, use the words in a sentence  

Spelling: write the words in alphabetical order  

English:  quiz on verb tenses, use WB p. 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 to study

 

Thursday

Reading: practice vocabulary, use the words in a sentence  

Spelling: take a practice test (you do not have to turn in the practice test)
everyone who made lower than a 93% on the pretest MUST take tomorrow’s spelling test. Those who made an A may choose to take the test or may choose to not take the test.
